I've heard from the older students that countless stuff gets left behind every year because students either don't know what to do with all of their things, can't find them all, or lose them. Even though this is my first time packing up, it only took me half an hour to get all of my things squared away for the year, so I figured I would share some of my tips with you.
The problem most people have with packing is that they over think things. "How do I pack so that nothing breaks?" is something you should never worry about - the House Elves use magic to carry all of our stuff, if they break something it's on them. Although really, nothing's going to break. And of course the aim to "pack so that you know where everything goes" is also a rubbish and time consuming idea. You'll spend so much time thinking about what goes where that you'll end up forgetting something important! So now I present you with how you should all pack now that the year is over.
The first and foremost thing to do is to get your trunk. If your trunk is small, grab someone else's that doesn't have their name or initials on it - it's not called stealing if you confused a trunk double the size of yours, after all, things grow with time, right?
